Digital Ventilated Cages have proved once again, that they can be used in a non-intrusive way to easily and quickly detect pathological effects such as cancer, pain or other models of mice.
Researchers at The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) in Canada, with the help of DVC® system in GM500 cages, could identify that mice infected with Covid19 became sick 1 day after infection. This finding would not normally be visible through a body weight measurement until 4 days.
The DVC® technology is also available for biocontainment cages (ISO-Negative) to study other infectious diseases models.
